HOW TO READ A COA

A certificate of analysis (COA) is a laboratory report for a tested sample. It can help you verify what was measured and whether the report matches the product you are viewing.

1. Match the product. Compare the product name, batch or lot number, sample ID and dates where available.
2. Read the cannabinoid panel. Look for THCA, delta-9 THC, CBD and other cannabinoids reported by the laboratory. Pay attention
to the units used.
3. Check safety panels. Depending on the product and testing scope, a report may include pesticides, heavy metals, residual
solvents, microbial testing or other panels.
4. Check the laboratory. The report should clearly identify the testing laboratory and report/sample information.
5. Use the COA as one quality signal. A COA is valuable, but freshness, storage, packaging and product handling also matter.
